A WORLD IN BALANCE
Sustainability in Action for Generations to Come
Nobel Sustainability Trust
The Nobel Sustainability Trust (NST), founded by members of the Nobel family, was created out of deep concern for the devastation of the world’s vital natural and non-renewable resources. Over-consumption has led to rising global temperatures and pollution of land, food, water, and air. The founders believe that the economic and social health of civilization will largely depend on the availability of renewable energy and the adoption of sustainable approaches in agriculture, forestry, industrial manufacturing, and water reclamation. Achieving this will require substantial intellectual and financial efforts. The aim of NST is to contribute to this global endeavor.

The mission of NST is to promote sustainable economic growth that preserves and ultimately enhances the living systems of our planet, creates opportunities for people, and harnesses human ingenuity in support of a prosperous common future. By participating in and supporting NST´s projects and activities, we encourage people to take a stand for our collective future on a life-sustaining planet.
NST holds that nothing is more important than this mission. Our work is dedicated to sustaining human life on Earth through efforts in the following areas:
Reduction of climate change, with emphasis on global warming, by promoting advancements in sustainable production and consumption, especially non-polluting and renewable technologies.

Acceleration of the transition to sustainable societies — by supporting initiatives that foster prosperity, improve governance, and enhance transparency.

Creation of a pollution-free and life-sustaining environment for all — within the limits of the planet’s carrying capacity.

In pursuit of these goals, NST has established the Sustainability Summit every year, which includes the presentation of The Sustainability Awards in technology and implementation, as well as the Medal of Recognition for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability.
UN Sustainable Development Goals

In September 2015, the United Nations Summit on Sustainable Development was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The 193 Member States collectively agreed on "Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development."
The agreement includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 related targets.
In light of these global goals, our focus is on eradicating poverty and hunger, promoting economic growth and sustainability, advancing social progress, upholding equity and justice, and strengthening ecological civilization.

The Nobel Sustainability Trust (NST) is committed to advancing global sustainability by supporting initiatives that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals provide a shared blueprint for peace, prosperity, and a healthier planet for present and future generations.
At NST, we focus on practical solutions and partnerships that drive measurable impact. Our projects and collaborations address critical challenges, including:

Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6): Developing and supporting innovative water purification and management systems.

Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7): Promoting renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency to accelerate the global transition.

Climate Action (SDG 13): Encouraging innovation and awareness to mitigate climate risks and build resilience.

Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17): Building bridges between governments, academia, businesses, and civil society to scale solutions.

Through our events, awards, and collaborative projects, NST strives to inspire action, highlight innovation, and recognize outstanding contributions to sustainability. By working in line with the SDGs, we reaffirm our commitment to a sustainable future where economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection go hand in hand.

Together, we can accelerate progress toward a world that thrives in harmony with nature.
